Yunnan is considered very safe, and crime involving foreign
visitors is very low. It is wise, however, to observe
all normal precautions in crowded areas.
Tap water safety:
Not potable. Bottled water is available everywhere
Medical:
Visitors must fill in a Health Declaration Form on arrival.
Medical records may be required for stays exceeding 6
months. Inoculations against influenza, tetanus, hepatitis
B, tuberculosis, and Japanese encephalitis are recommended
for longer stays. Malaria is endemic in remote tropical
areas, check with government health authorities for update.
