Thailand has been blessed with some
of the most beautiful beaches in the world. All within easy
reach of the capital, improved roads and well-developed air
connections make these beaches easier to reach than ever before
Cha-am & Hua Hin
Once the beach destinations of choice for members of the Royal
Family and a coterie of the rich and famous, Cha-am and Hua
Hin, 230 km southwest of Bangkok, have developed in recent
years into tranquil beach resorts with a very relaxed atmosphere.
Krabi
Much quieter than either Phuket or Samui, Krabi has many stunning
beaches, backed by limestone cliffs. Krabi province includes
Phi Phi island.

Koh Samui
This idyllic island in the Gulf of Thailand, with its award-winning
airport and surfeit of spas and herbal saunas, has all the
ingredients for a relaxing vacation. The main beaches are
at Chaweng and Lamai, and there are several smaller, quieter
beaches from which to choose.
Pattaya
One of the best-loved beach destinations in the world, Pattaya,
170 km southeast of Bangkok, is renowned for its plethora
of fine hotels, world-class golf, excellent restaurants, offshore
coral islands, and notoriously naughty nightlife. The adjoining
bay of Jomthien, and the fishing village of Rayong offer more
relaxed alternatives, while the beautiful island of Koh Chang,
off the coast from Trat, has become a haven for travellers
looking for a laid back, few-frills, experience.
Phuket
With over a dozen beautiful beaches, this Andaman Sea island,
close to the Malaysian border, and just over an hour's flight
from Bangkok or Singapore, offers a wide range of sports,
and entertainment. The nearby islands of Phi-Phi and the superb
beaches of Krabi are also popular.
